Midsummer Solstice Night is a unique time in most cultures around the world. On Saturday the 22 th of June, we are proud to present to you to the Kupała Night Slavic traditions of Eastern Europe. It was a festival that was enjoyed all over Ireland up to the middle of the last century.
We have prepared a lot of attractions for everyone to enjoy, there will be art workshops, flower wreath making, a drum circle, lots of music and traditional dances in Folk Costumes, Slavic yoga, fire performance and many more.
For us Kupała Night is a holiday filled with joy, dance and love, it unites everybody in the community through the magic of nature.
One of our old fables which is retold during that night, is of the search for magic fern that only blooms on that night, and that whoever finds it will live in happiness, love and abundance from then on.
Also on that evening young women braid flower wreaths with special flowers and herbs in them and then throw them into the water. Young men went in search of them and it was used like a divination.
Each man that found a flower wreath fished it out of the water and returned it to the mystery lady, and based on whether she liked the man or not they had a date on Kupała Night..
Many romances and marriages were said to have started on Kupała Night.

Noc Kupały to pradawne święto obchodzone w czasie przesilenia letniego. 21 Czerwca to najdłuższy dzień i najkrótsza noc w roku i niemal we wszystkich kulturach był to czas wyjątkowy.
W tradycji słowiańskiej to mężczyzna i kobieta, to żywioł ognia i wody, to energia która rozbłyska z tego połączenia.
Kupała – Cúpla – Couple to słowa, które pomogą Wam zrozumieć sens tej tradycji.
Istotne znaczenie w tym dniu miały zioła. Słońce świeci najdłużej więc nabierały one największej mocy. Kobiety zaplatały wianki chcąc przyciągnąć miłość i szczęście. Zwracały jednak uwagę na ich drugą stronę mocy.
Kupała to energia płynąca z połączenia tak więc zapraszamy gorąco do wspólnej zabawy. Zachęcamy do przyniesienia kwiatów i ziół z których upleciemy wianki, ubierzcie sie jasno niech to będzie wyjątkowy i radosny czas.
Pokażmy irlandzkiej społeczności piekno naszej tradycji. Być może okaże się, że mamy ze sobą więcej wspólnego niż się na pozór wydaje.
Przygotowaliśmy mnóstwo niespodzianek dla dzieci i dorosłych. Każdy znajdzie tu coś dla siebie!
